MICROCONTROLLERS

MICROCONTROLLER

:-The microcontroller is a small computing device which has a CPU, a fixed amount of RAM, ROM and other peripherals all embeded on a single chip as compared to microprocessor that has only a CPU on the chip.

Examples of microcontrollers are :-
KEYBOARD, MOUSE, WASHING MACHINE, DIGITAL CAMERA,  PENDRIVE, REMOTE CONTROLLER, MICROWAVE etc.

  • Because of very small size of the microcontroller, it is embeded in another device or system to perform a specifc functionality.
  • The simple use of microcontroller has permitted repetitive execution of tedious tasks automatically without any human intervention, therby saving precious time.

The portable printer scanner is a versatile gadget with a built-in microcontroller, offering efficient CPU processing and embedded peripherals. Unlike a standalone microprocessor, it combines computing power, RAM, ROM, and other functionalities on a single chip. This compact technology is similar to microcontrollers found in everyday devices like keyboards, digital cameras, and remote controllers
